1st XI Match Report by Coach Kyle Emerson: Most hockey games were Friday afternoon and evening against Glenwood, the rest Saturday. Being Glenwood’s old boys’ day, extra energy was seen from the opposition, with strong support on the touchline.

The first quarter started electrically. Glenwood was very physical and posed challenges often close to the law. College created a few chances but not enough to beat the Glenwood keeper.

The score was 0-0 at halftime. College opened the scoring in the 3rd quarter after Mathew Ponter threw a long smash at Cameron van der Vliet who flicked the ball past the goalkeeper.

The second goal came after a good midfield turnover by Alex Styan. He passes to Glenton Winlock, who finds Ross Graham in the circle. His shot was saved but Connor Fulton was quick on the rebound and kicked the ball into the net. College played structured play and dominated possession in a game that saw 11 cards dealt. The final score was 2-0 for the College.
