MINSK, July 7 (BelTA) – President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko met with Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov of Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.
The meeting also brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Sports and Culture and the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan. The parties discussed the participation of the Kazakhstan team in the 2nd CIS Games in Belarus in 2023 and other sporting events.
“Sports cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan has been developing rapidly for many years. We have signed agreements, we organize joint training camps. Belarusian athletes participate in tournaments in Kazakhstan, and delegations from your country come to see us “, said Viktor Lukashenko. “It is also possible to expand cooperation between educational and scientific sports institutions, for example, the University of Physical Culture of Belarus and the Academy of Sports and Tourism of Kazakhstan. Kazakh athletes have improved a lot in sports like karate and boxing. Your experience in these disciplines, I am sure, will be useful for Belarusian athletes.”
For his part, Yeraly Tugzhanov praised the high level of training of scientific and medical personnel in Belarus in the field of sports, and also noted the leading positions of Belarus in some sports. “We will seek to implement all agreements in sport as soon as possible. I know that Belarus has excelled internationally in canoeing and kayaking, trampoline, athletics and rhythmic gymnastics. Here we can work more actively and cooperate,” said Yeraly Tugzhanov.
During the visit to Nur-Sultan, the Belarusian delegation visited the Sports Complex of Kazakhstan, the Barys Arena and the Palace of Martial Arts.
