Lewisburg, Pennsylvania – Love the outdoors? Can’t wait for boating season? The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) is thrilled to announce the Paddling Film Festival World Tour, an opportunity to watch award-winning kayaking, canoeing and rafting films from around the world!

Since 2006, the Paddling Film Festival World Tour has showcased the best in paddling film, with screenings in over 120 cities around the world. This year, the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) is hosting the festival and will be showcasing the films at Central PA! You’ll be inspired to explore rivers, lakes and oceans, push extremes, embrace the paddling lifestyle and enjoy wild places.

The event will take place on April 9, 2022 from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Campus Theater, located at 413 Market Street, Lewisburg.

“We hope the stories and adventures shared in these films inspire people to engage in the outdoors along our own Susquehanna River,” said SGP Executive Director Corey Ellison. “Our river is a great resource for recreation, and it’s just a short walk from many Pennsylvania communities.”

Among the films broadcast, SGP has selected a program that will take viewers on adventures around the world. They will experience a whitewater journey through Africa, a volcano hike in Alaska and a raft from the caldera to the Pacific Ocean, and the story of the ride of a man to work in Australia by kayak.

SGP will also be hosting a table at the event with free maps, guides and itineraries for attendees to take home and start planning their next Susquehanna River adventure.

“It’s the perfect time of year to plan for the season ahead of us, and SGP has all the information you need to get started,” said SGP Communications and Outreach Director Alana Jajko.

In addition to a selection of films from the World Tour and access to local outdoor recreation resources, attendees will also have the opportunity to win raffle prizes for downtown Lewisburg businesses.

Tickets for the event can be purchased for $15 in lineor at the door for $20.

SGP would like to thank the Palestinian Authority Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau, the Williamsport Sun Gazette, Campus Theater and the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership for their contributions to the event. This is an indoor, in-person event.

The Paddling Film Festival World Tour will be a great opportunity to meet other outdoor enthusiasts and is the perfect starting point for the season as we look forward to all the paddling days to come!
