Hoodoo Adventures will host the 17th Annual World Paddle Film Festival 2022 on Friday, May 6 at Marina Way Park.

The event is a fundraiser for the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society (YORS), with 100% of event proceeds going to YORS.

Presented by Great Escape Outdoors, the Paddling Film Festival is a showcase of the world’s best paddling films of the year – whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP, action and lifestyle – in more than 120 cities and towns around across Canada, United States and around the world.

There will be 16 boating films shortlisted for the World Tour, including the 11 festival category winners.

“Audiences will see hairy whitewater action, sea kayakers exploring remote shores, canoe expeditions on the North River, international films about river travel, engaging environmental documentaries and fishing battles in grueling kayaking,” the press release read.

Along with the movies, guests can enjoy local food and drink from: Tube Steak Boogie, Nummerland Paletas, Hwy 97 Brewery, Howling Moon Cider and Tightrope Winery, in addition to freshly popped popcorn and family-friendly drinks and snacks.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with food and drink available. Movies start at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and available now online here or at the door on the day of the event.
