Sunday 31 October 2021, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Teddington, Trowlock Island to Hampton Court Bridge.
The first race will start from a marked channel at Trowlock Island and continue upstream to the Hampton Court Bridge over the Middlesex on the right side of the river. Competitors will then turn at a marker buoy below the bridge and return to Trowlock Island on Surrey, on the left side of the river.
The second race will start from a marked channel at Trowlock Island and continue upstream to Ravens Ait on the Middlesex on the right side of the river. Competitors will then turn at a marker buoy above Ravens Ait and return to Trowlock Island on Surrey, on the left side of the river.
All the indications for the left bank and the right bank are given looking upstream.
The first race will take place between 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The second race will take place between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Masters of all vessels should navigate slowly and maintain adequate watch between Trowlock Island and Hampton Court Bridge.
Those in charge of boats should also be aware that they are responsible for avoiding collisions and should use all available means appropriate to the circumstances and conditions to decide whether there is a risk of immediate danger and to avoid it.
Nothing in these instructions replaces those parts of the Navigation Licensing Regulations 1993 and the Thames General Regulations and the United Kingdom Merchant Shipping Regulations 1996 (Distress Signals and Collision Prevention) which may be relevant . Particular attention should be paid to Statutes 24-42 of the Thames Navigation Licensing and General Byelaws 1993, Steering Sailing and Speed.
And notice is hereby given that it is provided for by rule 52 of the Thames Navigation Licensing and General Byelaws 1993 rule that:
The captain of a ship shall not, except in an emergency, pass in front of a procession or a public gathering of boat racing regattas for the launching of a ship or any other event or function which may cause the gathering of a crowd on or near the river, nor to park his ship on it. in a manner which would hinder, hinder or interfere with such event or function of launching a procession of boat racing regattas or endanger the safety of persons gathering on the river or of prevent or interfere with the maintenance of order on it.
The maximum penalty for violation of the statutes is £ 1,000.
